Serious allegations have been brought against a law enforcement officer in Tashkent region. A prevention inspector of the Chirchiq City Police Department was suspected of illegal activities and detained.
According to information, in February of this year, he accepted money to "suppress" a bodily harm case committed by a criminal group. The suspect reached an agreement with the victim in this case and demanded $2,700 USD. Part of this money, $1,000, had already been returned to the victim earlier.
During operational measures, State Security Service officers detained the inspector in the act with material evidence while he was handing over the next installment of $300 USD.
A criminal case has now been initiated regarding this incident and investigation activities are underway. All circumstances are expected to receive a legal assessment within the framework of the law.
Additionally, during the investigation, other individuals involved in these illegal activities are also being identified. In particular, it has been announced that measures are being taken to implicate one of the inspector's colleagues in the criminal case.
