In May 2026, the Tashkent Metro recorded a significant increase in passenger numbers compared to the same period last year. Metro stations are particularly crowded on Thursdays and Fridays.
According to official statistics, while 986,916 passengers used metro services on May 8, 2025, this figure reached 1,105,883 on May 7, 2026. As a result, passenger traffic increased by 12 percent.
Additionally, while 953,220 passengers traveled by metro on May 15, 2025, this number reached 1,044,736 on May 14, 2026, representing a 9.6 percent growth.
As one of the highest indicators, the Tashkent Metro set a new record on May 8, 2026, serving 1,117,061 passengers in a single day. This result is significant as it is 80.5 percent higher than the same period last year.
Experts believe that this growth in passenger traffic indicates an increasing demand for urban transport and growing trust in metro services.
