Customs officers at Tashkent International Airport encountered a difficult situation during the next inspection. When the luggage of the passenger of the flight from Mumbai was checked in accordance with the rules, it was found that there were unusual items in the packaging of sweets, which at first glance seemed ordinary. When the packages were opened, 322 different medicines were seized, skillfully hidden inside them.
According to the customs administration, these drugs are medicines with 5 different names, the quality of which is not guaranteed and are not officially registered. They belong to the category of substances that can pose a threat to human health. Therefore, attempting to illegally import such products into the country is considered a serious offense.
According to preliminary estimates, the total value of the smuggled medicines exceeds 45 million soums. If these drugs were released into free circulation, their distribution to whom and for what purpose could pose a serious threat to the country's healthcare system.
Currently, procedural actions have been initiated in accordance with the established procedure. Experts are conducting special laboratory tests to determine the composition and quality of medicines, their origin, and the purpose for which they intend to be imported into Uzbekistan. This process is crucial for identifying potential individuals or networks behind this illegal activity.
Customs authorities ask citizens to thoroughly study the requirements of legislation before importing any goods or products, especially medicines, into the country. Because the control of products related to human health is very important for the security of the country and the well-being of the population.
