How was Uzbekistan's chances of qualifying for the World Cup assessed?
The Uzbek national team has a very good chance to qualify for the most prestigious football tournament in the world - the World Cup for the first time in its history.

In the third stage of the current World Cup qualifying tournament, hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, our compatriots are in second place. According to the rule, the first two places among the six national teams in this stage directly qualify for the World Cup.

CSKA player Abbasbek Fayzullaev assessed the chances of our country's main team to qualify for the World Cup.

- The Uzbek national team has a very good chance to qualify for the World Cup. There are four games left in the decisive stage of qualification: two away games, two at home.

The team is united, all the guys are good. There is a balance of youth and experienced players in the squad. This gives the team even more strength, because experienced players always give advice and help to us young people. This is a big plus for us.

We young people learn a lot from the older ones. Even though Abdukаdir Khusanov plays for Manchester City and I play for CSKA, we still have something to learn from the older ones. Because we need to learn a lot while we are young.

May our people's dream come true by qualifying for the World Cup, - said Abbasbek Fayzullaev.

Indeed, the Uzbekistan national team is competing with five other national teams in the first group in the third stage of the World Cup regional qualifying tournament.

So far, our compatriots have defeated the DPRK twice with the same score of 1:0, Kyrgyzstan 3:2, and the United Arab Emirates 1:0, played a goalless draw with Iran in Tashkent, and lost only once away to Qatar with the score of 2:3. Our players, who have accumulated a total of 13 points, are in second place in the group.

Now the Uzbek national team, under the guidance of the new head coach Timur Kapadze, must participate in four more matches.

In particular, our compatriots will play the first of the remaining matches on March 20 in Tashkent against the Kyrgyz national team, and five days later in Tehran, the group leader will be a guest of Iran.

The last two matches are scheduled for June. Then, on June 5, our team will play in the United Arab Emirates. This stage of the qualifying tournament will end on June 10 in our capital with a match against Qatar.
