Uzgidromet warns Uzbeks of heavy rain

From July 30 to August 1, 2025, a sharp change in weather conditions is expected across Uzbekistan. This was officially announced by the UzHydromet Center through an urgent statement. According to meteorologists, there is a risk of heavy rainfall and resulting natural disasters, especially in the mountainous and foothill areas of the country.

The statement urges citizens to take precautions, act according to weather conditions, and strictly follow natural safety rules. Due to the expected rainfall, some areas may experience mudflows, landslides, and flooding. This poses a serious threat not only to local residents but also to vacationers and drivers using mountain roads.

Special warnings have been issued for the following districts and cities:
• Tashkent Region — Ohangaron, Bustonlik, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik districts, and the cities of Angren and Almalyk.
• Namangan Region — Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangikurgon districts.
• Fergana Region — Sokh, Shahimardon, Fergana, and Besharik districts.
• Andijan Region — Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgontepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, Marhamat districts, and the city of Khanabad.

Authorities are taking preventive measures against mudflows and flooding. However, every citizen is also personally responsible for their own safety. Those planning vacations, long-distance trips, or farming activities should adjust their plans based on the weather.

To prevent emergencies, local authorities, emergency services, and environmental agencies are working in coordination. Public awareness campaigns, timely alerts, and evacuation measures are part of the response plan.

It should be noted that the accumulation of rainwater could significantly impact road traffic. Some rural areas may face flooding. Avoid potentially dangerous routes and contact emergency services if needed.

Weather changes may also affect agriculture — possible damage to crops, soil erosion, and flooded fields could hinder farming operations.
