A new highway will be built on the Tashkent–Chorvoq route, Uz24.uz reported.
Minister of Transport Ilhom Mahkamov announced on Uzbekistan24 TV channel that a project for the construction of a new highway from Tashkent to Chorvoq has been presented.
According to the minister, the “Chorvoq–Chimgan” recreational zone has become an important tourist destination, attracting significant investments. Traffic congestion is observed on the current road, which calls for a new solution.
A presidential decision has been made to start the construction of the Tashkent–Chorvoq highway. The preliminary concept has been developed, and construction will be carried out through a tender process, involving leading companies under a public-private partnership.
According to the minister, the new road will not affect the existing one and will ease traffic flow. The current infrastructure will remain intact.
