Bahrain 2025 Uzbekistan young athletes win new medals
October 25, 2025, at the III Asian Youth Games being held in Bahrain, Uzbekistan's athletes continue to participate successfully. Representatives of the country have won new medals of various levels in mixed martial arts, athletics, and taekwondo WT.
The Uzbekistan national team won its first gold medal in the mixed martial arts program. In the weight category up to 50 kilograms, Avaz Anvarov defeated Kazakhstan's representative Sanzhar Imangal in the fight, becoming the champion of the III Asian Youth Games and bringing the gold medal to the country's tally.
Additionally, in the mixed martial arts program, Ibrohim Batirov reached the final in the weight category up to 55 kilograms but lost to his opponent from Tajikistan. Nevertheless, Batirov demonstrated a high level of preparation and won the silver medal.
Uzbek athletes also performed successfully in taekwondo WT. In the weight category up to 73 kilograms, Ahadjon Mukhtarov defeated the Kazakhstan representative and claimed the championship.
Moreover, in the weight category up to 55 kilograms, Rukshanakhon Ravshanova secured a confident victory over her Chinese opponent and won the gold medal. In the mixed martial arts program, Kamronbek Qodirov (65 kg) and Abdulboriy Abdug'afurov (70 kg) lost to their opponents in the semifinals but won bronze medals.
In athletics, Shodiyona Rahmonova again earned a prize-winning place. In the 400-meter hurdles, she took third place and won the bronze medal.
