The Uzbekistan national team, which is holding a training camp in Dubai without foreign players, took to the field in a training match against China and showed character and made a comeback in a match held behind closed doors. The most pleasant news in the match - the debutants showed themselves: 24-year-old Javokhir Khusanov and 18-year-old Behruz Karimov scored for our team.
This match was not just a friendly, but a full test ground. The clash, held as a training session, lasted 3 halves of 35 minutes. Fabio Cannavaro inspected almost the entire training camp inside the game: a total of 29 players were fielded. This means the coach wants to see each candidate's preparedness, psychology, and adaptation to the rhythm of the game in a practical situation.
The Chinese opened the scoring in the match, scoring from a penalty in the 12th minute and a goal from the game in the 20th minute, worsening the situation for our national team. But, on the other hand, this was exactly what the "white wolves" needed: a way out of a difficult situation, willpower, and a fight to the end.
Thus, in the final minutes of the game, there was the turning point we expected. In the 90+1st minute, Javokhir Khusanov reduced the score and opened the door to the comeback. In the 105th minute, Behruz Karimov, with a coldness unbecoming of his 18 years, equalized the score. For young people, such goals are not just statistics, but a signal for confidence and the future.
Now the next test at the training camp will be held on January 30. The Uzbekistan national team will play another training match against the Armenian club. For Cannavaro, however, these debates determine one thing: who is just a training camp participant and who is a real competitor.
