In Week 15 of the Bundesliga, Bayer secured a 3-1 victory over RB Leipzig away from home. The visitors turned the match in their favor after halftime and calmly claimed the final victory.
The outcome of the clash was determined by Montrell Kalbert’s goal in added time. The hosts began actively and tried to pressure the opponent with high pressing.
As a result, Xaver Schlager opened the scoring with a long-range strike. However, the visitors quickly responded and equalized the score through Terre.
Close to halftime, Bayer increased their attacking intensity to take the lead. Schick successfully capitalized on a deep pass.
In the second half, RB Leipzig took control of the ball and attempted to create opportunities through wing play and set-pieces. However, the visitors maintained a solid defensive presence, preventing the hosts from creating clear chances.
Despite substitutions boosting the hosts' energy, Bayer’s defense withstood the pressure. Towards the end of the match, the pace slowed, and the score remained unchanged.
In added time, Bayer exploited a defensive error by the opponents. Kalbert went one-on-one with the goalkeeper and scored the third goal by chipping the ball over him. This goal sealed the victory for Bayer.
