The upper-level versions of the Chevrolet Cobalt produced in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan differ significantly. While Kazakhstan focuses on convenience and practical usability, Uzbekistan emphasizes the vehicle's exterior design and adaptations to local conditions.

The Kazakhstan publication Kursiv compared the Cobalt Elegant AT (Kazakhstan) and Cobalt GX Midnight AT (Uzbekistan) models to determine what customers are paying for. Both versions are equipped with a 1.5-liter, 106-horsepower naturally aspirated engine and a six-speed automatic transmission.

However, according to auto bloggers, Uzbek manufacturers have provided the Midnight model with different calibration, making the vehicle operate more softly and quietly. The basic safety level is identical for both models: front airbags and an ABS system, but they lack additional assistance systems.

The Cobalt Elegant AT model sold in Kazakhstan is described as a practical and convenient option for everyday use. Despite its simple design, it places a high emphasis on functionality.

In contrast, the Chevrolet Cobalt GX Midnight AT offered in Uzbekistan focuses more on aesthetic appeal. This model features darkened optics, factory-tinted rear windows, and special alloy wheels.

Among the practical features essential for the local market are readiness for installing a gas-cylinder system and engine underbody protection. In November 2025, Uzbekistan debuted the Style MCM and Midnight MCM versions.

These versions are equipped with the new B15D2 engine featuring phase shifters and a new control module. This engine ensures stronger pull at lower RPMs, smoother acceleration, and compliance with Euro-5 environmental standards.

Additionally, the ABS system and safety modules have been updated. The flagship Midnight MCM version comes with additional comfort features, while a 563-liter trunk remains a standard characteristic.

However, this is where the similarities end. Kazakhstan's Cobalt model is characterized as a practical and technically efficient workhorse, whereas Uzbekistan's Cobalt model aims to deliver a luxurious appearance coupled with versatility.
