
A fundraising campaign has been organized for the family of MuhammadAziz Umurzoqov, an Uzbek student who was killed in a shooting at Brown University. To date, more than 5,000 donations have raised $229,000, with the total goal set at $260,000.
The largest donation was made by William Ackman, amounting to $18,000. The incident occurred on December 14 during an exam at the university’s engineering faculty.
The shooting resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to nine others. The suspect, Benjamin Erikson, was later apprehended on the university premises.
U.S. President Donald Trump described the incident as a "horrific event" and called for prayers for the victims. Founded in 1764, Brown University is one of the oldest and most prestigious private institutions in the United States. It is part of the Ivy League and is located in Providence, Rhode Island.
