On 11 January 2026 at 05:06 (Tashkent time), in the FA Cup Round of 64, Chelsea beat Charlton 5–1 away from home.
Both teams started cautiously, with hardly any risky moments. As time went on, the London side increased the tempo down the wings, sending more crosses and sharp passes into the box. Chelsea entered the opposition area frequently, but Charlton blocked shots in many episodes. The match was also briefly halted due to an incident in the stands.
Late in the first half, the visitors’ pressure paid off. In the 45th minute, Jorrel Hato collected a rebound and struck the dropping ball first time — it flew into the near top corner to open the scoring.
After the break, Chelsea extended their lead: in the 50th minute, Oluwatosin Adarabioyo headed in accurately from a set piece. Charlton did not give up — they applied more pressure and began to threaten with deliveries into the box. In the 58th minute, Miles Libern finished off a rebound to reduce the deficit and bring the intrigue back.
However, Chelsea calmly took control and, with the help of substitutes, got the game back on track. In the 63rd minute, Marc Guiu tapped into an empty net. Then a quick attack was developed down the wing and Pedro Neto fired precisely into the near corner for another goal.
Near the end came the decisive moment: Estevao burst into the penalty area at speed and was brought down by a defender. The referee immediately pointed to the spot, and Enzo Fernandez confidently converted the penalty with a low shot into the corner.
