Lincoln criticizes Mourinho for breaking his promise

Former Fenerbahce player Lincoln Jose has openly voiced his dissatisfaction with Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese coach led the Istanbul club in the 2024–2025 season. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
According to Lincoln, Mourinho failed to keep his promise and showed disrespect toward the player. “He has achieved a lot, and no one can deny that. But for me, character matters more than trophies in life,” the footballer told Fanatik in an interview.
He said that before going on loan to Hull City, he spoke with Mourinho, who stated he wanted to see him at the summer camp in Portugal. After the season ended, Lincoln waited for a call-up, but when he tried to contact the coach, Jose refused to speak and told him to reach out to the sporting director.
Lincoln noted that while the team was in Portugal, he was also at home in Portugal, yet Mourinho still sent him back to Istanbul and instructed him to train separately. “I was treated unfairly and disrespectfully,” he added.
The player also said he gave everything to help the club in many matches even when he was not playing in his natural position, and after a serious injury he expected support but did not receive it. “I’m not as famous as others, but I always fought until the end on the pitch,” Lincoln said.
Jose Mourinho is currently in charge of Benfica.
