First Smart City-Museum to Be Established in Khiva

The "Ichan-Qala" complex in Khiva will be transformed into the world's first immersive smart city-museum. This initiative is outlined in a resolution by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Additionally, a new tourist route named the "Samarkand Heritage Trail" is planned to be developed. In Tashkent, efforts will be made to include modernist monuments in UNESCO's World Heritage List and establish the city as a leader in terms of the number of mosaics.

A new position, deputy chairman of the committee for promoting tourism products, will be introduced. This individual will oversee the activities of the National PR Center and foreign representative offices.

These representative offices will be opened in several countries to promote Uzbekistan's tourism industry. The committee is tasked with preparing proposals to expand the visa-free regime, simplify entry procedures, and develop tourism-transport logistics.

By 2026, a new tourism development strategy aimed at the period up to 2040, as well as a marketing strategy extending to 2030, will be developed. These strategies will include plans to promote tourism products in international markets.

Furthermore, the initiative envisions attracting globally renowned clothing brands to shopping centers and constructing outlet centers in a national style. By 2030, such centers are planned for Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, with subsequent expansion to other tourist cities.
