A new regulation has been approved in Uzbekistan to temporarily lift foreign travel restrictions for individuals with overdue alimony payments. This measure applies when the individual possesses special civil liability insurance.
These changes were introduced by the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the State Security Service. The agencies have added amendments to the existing procedures that temporarily restrict foreign travel for individuals who fail to comply with court rulings without valid reasons.
The document has been officially registered with the Ministry of Justice under the number 3196-2. According to the amendments, if an individual obligated to pay alimony plans to travel abroad for up to three months and holds a valid insurance policy, travel restrictions will not be enforced.
This insurance covers the risk of the debtor's failure to return and their inability to fulfill alimony obligations. Information about the existence of an insurance policy is automatically verified through the integration of the information systems of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement and the Agency for Advanced Projects.
Insurance can only be obtained from companies that hold a valid license for this activity. The terms of the insurance are specified in a special agreement between the insurance companies and the Bureau.
