Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso shared his thoughts on Barcelona’s young star Lamine Yamal ahead of the upcoming final. While stressing there is no doubt about the player’s top-level talent, Alonso made it clear that Madrid do not build their preparation and tactics around any single player.
According to Alonso, Lamine Yamal is remarkably mature for his age and is producing outstanding performances on the pitch. At the same time, Los Blancos’ main focus remains on their own playing style and collective game plan.
“He doesn’t need a special introduction. His age and the way he plays already show what a fantastic footballer he is. Of course, he’s a great player, but he doesn’t directly affect our game plan,” said Xabi Alonso.
