Changes made to the procedure for paying the childbirth allowance in Uzbekistan

Changes have been made to the procedure for paying the one-time childbirth allowance in Uzbekistan. Now, families whose first child did not survive can also receive this benefit for their next living child.
Under the previous procedure, the allowance was only provided for the first child. If the first child died during the perinatal or early neonatal period, the next child was considered the second, and the benefit was denied.
Following appeals to the President's People's Reception Office, relevant amendments were made to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution. According to the new procedure, the allowance is paid for the next living child even if the first or subsequent children did not survive.
Currently, the amount of the one-time childbirth allowance is approximately 890,000 soums.
