Domestic violence is not a phenomenon committed only by men — an incident recorded in Fergana proved the opposite.
In the Fergana region, a simple domestic disagreement between a husband and wife escalated into a serious conflict. According to reports, the couple, who had gone out to take their children for a walk, initially argued over whether to visit an arts palace or a shopping complex.
Two days later, the argument continued, and this time the conflict intensified. As a result, the 27-year-old woman committed violence against her husband, hitting him with her hand and causing bodily injury.
In court, the woman pleaded guilty, stating in her testimony that she had pushed her husband during the argument in order to defend herself.
The victim, the husband, stated that he would not forgive his wife and asked the court to take legal action against her.
According to the court verdict, the woman was found guilty of domestic violence and was fined 8 million 240 thousand soums.
This case once again demonstrated the importance of resolving family problems without violence.
