On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the "Khirkay Sherif" Mosque in Istanbul opened its doors to pilgrims. Visitors here have the opportunity to visit the blessed kirkas of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Grand Opening Ceremony
The opening of the exhibition was attended by the mayor of Istanbul, the mufti, as well as representatives of the Uvays Qarani dynasty, which has been preserving the kirkas of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The exhibition was widely covered by the Anadolu Agency.

A long queue of pilgrims has formed near the mosque, wishing to visit the holy shrine. Special facilities have been created for the disabled, the elderly, pregnant women and the sick, who are allowed to enter without waiting in line.

History of the Khirqa
At the end of his life, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) entrusted his blessed khirqa to Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with them) and bequeathed it to Uwais Qarani (may Allah have mercy on him). After Uwais Qarani's death, this sacred trust was preserved by his descendants.

In the 17th century, at the request of the Ottoman Sultan Ahmed I, representatives of the Qarani dynasty moved to Istanbul. In 1847, by order of Sultan Abdulmecid, the "Khirqai Sharif" mosque was built, and this sacred monument began to be kept here. Currently, the khirqa is under the protection of the 59th generation of the Qarani dynasty.
"Khirqai Sa'adat" in Topkapi Palace
Another robe belonging to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) - "Khirqai Sa'adat" - is also kept in the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. This blessed garment was gifted by our Prophet to the famous poet Ka'b. When Sultan Selim conquered Egypt in 1517, he brought this hirqa to Istanbul.
The exhibition of the hirqa in Istanbul is one of the most important spiritual events for Muslims. Every year, thousands of pilgrims come to visit this sacred monument during the month of Ramadan. Even today, long lines of pilgrims form around the mosque, which shows the deep respect for this sacred heritage. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
