Kosovo and Switzerland Draw in Match


The national football teams of Kosovo and Switzerland played to a 1–1 draw in a match held in Pristina. This result allowed Switzerland to secure first place in their group and qualify directly for the FIFA World Cup.

Kosovo, finishing second, guaranteed themselves a spot in the playoff stage. From the opening moments of the match, both teams adopted a cautious playing style.

The tempo of the match picked up at the start of the second half. In the 47th minute, Switzerland capitalized on a mistake on the flank.

Sou received the ball in the center and passed it to Vargas, who struck from inside the penalty area, beating goalkeeper Muric and opening the scoring.

In response, Kosovo displayed a more offensive approach. They pushed the game into the Swiss penalty area and increased their attacks from the left side.

Muslija and Galapeni consistently attempted to send crosses into the area, but goalkeeper Kobel successfully dealt with all of them. In the 74th minute, Kosovo achieved their breakthrough.

Muslija received the ball outside the penalty area, dribbled towards the center, and fired a precise shot into the far corner to equalize.

In the remaining time, Kosovo searched for a winning goal, but Switzerland's defense stood firm, securing the 1–1 draw. The result was satisfactory for both teams.

Switzerland secured first place in the group, earning a direct berth to the FIFA World Cup. Kosovo, meanwhile, will participate in the playoff stage scheduled for spring.
