A swarm of drones over Moscow: airports stopped, strikes intensified

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday, January 4th, that Ukrainian drones targeted Moscow, the Moscow region, and several other Russian territories. According to the agency, the duty air defense system intercepted and destroyed aircraft-type drones. Bryansk and Kursk regions reportedly accounted for the largest number of drones.
At the same time, Russian media reported that the drone attack led to temporary restrictions on the operation of four airports in Moscow and the region. In particular, it is noted that many delays were recorded in the flight schedule in Vnukovo. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that several drones heading towards the capital were shot down and that emergency services are working at the crash sites.

At the same time, the Ukrainian side also reported that on the night of January 4, the Russian army struck Ukrainian territory with drones. According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Force Telegram channel, a total of 52 unmanned aerial vehicles were used in the attack, 40 of which were Shahed-type. The Ukrainian military, in turn, reported that 39 drones were shot down in the northern and eastern directions, and 13 "attacking drone" strikes were recorded at 9 locations.
According to reports, one such attack was observed near a gas station in Kherson: a gas module and a car caught fire as a result of the throwing of an explosive device. Ukrainian emergency services stated there were no casualties.

It should be noted: the number of drones and the figures on "destroyed" devices may differ in different sources - in wartime conditions, such calculations are often updated, and each side makes its own statement. However, there is one fact: the air confrontation is intensifying, which directly affects logistics, flights, and the lives of ordinary people.
