Caspian Pipeline Attack Causes $1.5 Billion Loss for Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan incurs $1.5 billion loss from Caspian pipeline attack
Kazakhstan has incurred at least $1.5 billion in losses due to an attack on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). This was stated in an interview with RITV by Olzhas Baidildinov.

This amount is equivalent to the annual budget of major cities in the country, such as Astana or Almaty. “There is no military necessity here, as oil is transported to Europe via the CPC.

Currently, the CPC transports over six million tons of oil per month. Traditionally, 90% of this volume comes from Kazakhstan.

Once again, I emphasize, this is not Kazakh oil itself, but oil being exported from Kazakhstan,” Baidildinov said. According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy, on November 29, the CPC was attacked by marine drones.

As a result, the oil complex's equipment suffered significant damage. The ministry condemned the attack on a civilian facility, calling it unacceptable as it poses a threat to global energy security.

The Kazakh government has activated plans to urgently redirect oil volumes through alternative routes.
