The Domodedovo City Court of the Moscow Region found the well-known actress Aglaya Tarasova guilty in the drug smuggling case and sentenced her to three years of probation and a fine of 200 thousand rubles. This criminal case is related to the discovery of just 0.38 grams of hashish (cannabis) oil inside the actress's vape upon her arrival from Tel Aviv.
Lenient Outcome of the Criminal Case
Although the actress was previously facing a penalty of 3 to 7 years in prison under Article 229.1 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Drug smuggling"), the court made a relatively light decision. The prosecutor also requested three and a half years of probation, stressing that the 31-year-old Tarasova could be reformed without "isolation from society." The court session was held in closed proceedings on November 26.
Guarantees by Artists
On the defense side, famous artists such as Leonid Yarmolnik, Evgeny Tsyganov, and Yulia Snigir testified as witnesses. Earlier, Sergey Bezrukov and Evgeny Mironov also provided written recommendations for Tarasova. They described their colleague as a responsible, hardworking person and stated that they had never seen her in a state of excessive consumption, requesting leniency.
The Actress's Apologies and Hard Lesson
During the court proceedings, the actress fully pleaded guilty, but changed her testimony, claiming that the vape was a gift from an Israeli acquaintance in 2022 and she thought it contained only a small amount of legal cannabis. She called the incident a "huge and foolish mistake" and a "hard lesson."
In the preliminary investigation stage, the court applied a relatively softer preventive measure than house arrest, restricting her internet use and night-time outings. Aglaya Tarasova is the daughter of actress Ksenia Rappoport and is known for her roles in the "Lyod" trilogy, the film "Kholop-2," and the series "Besprintsipnye."
