The third Avatar film grossed $760 million in two weekends

According to information published on December 29, 2025 at 15:02, James Cameron’s “Avatar: Fire and Ash” is showing a rare level of box-office stability among major blockbusters. The franchise’s third installment has grossed $760 million worldwide in just two weekends. This was reported by kursiv.uz.reports.

In the U.S., the film earned another $64 million in its second weekend. Notably, the drop in audience turnout was limited to 28%: by comparison, “Avatar”’s second installment fell by 52% in its second weekend—considered a typical figure even for the biggest releases.

The smaller decline for the third installment indicates strong demand and powerful word-of-mouth. The first two “Avatar” films led the global box office for seven weeks and ultimately each surpassed $2 billion. Analysts do not rule out that “Fire and Ash” could reach the same milestone.

With the new figures, it was noted that the first three “Avatar” films have grossed $6 billion in total. This is cited as the first time in cinema history that a trilogy has reached such a result.

Meanwhile, “Marti Ajoyib,” starring Timothée Chalamet, also got off to a strong start: in the U.S., it collected $28 million in its first weekend of limited release, marking one of the best results in A24’s history. The international rollout, including in Russia, is scheduled for January.

Since the film’s production budget amounted to a record $70 million for A24, box-office stability in the coming weeks will be the decisive factor in its financial success.
