By 2030, Uzbekistan is planning to increase its gross domestic product (GDP) to $200 billion. This was announced in the budget address by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
As a result of this economic growth, per capita income is expected to reach $5,000. Achieving this indicator is projected to help reduce poverty and improve the quality of life for Uzbek citizens.
The Ministry also updated its economic growth forecasts until 2028, despite external economic risks. This year, GDP growth is expected to reach 7 percent, with growth rates of 7 percent forecasted for 2026 and 2027, and 6.9 percent for 2028.
The Ministry of Economy also touched upon budget-related issues. Starting next year, the budget deficit will be calculated as part of the overall fiscal balance, including deposits and credits allocated for programs.
The target is to maintain the deficit within the 3 percent threshold of GDP. According to forecasts, next year consolidated budget revenues will amount to 515.4 trillion soum, while expenditures are expected to reach 567 trillion soum.
Public debt is expected to remain at 35 percent of GDP, a level considered to be safe.
