Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola emphasized how a club gets through difficult spells and how crucial the board’s support is at such times. The Spanish coach pointed to last season, saying the club did not leave him alone even when results dipped.
According to Guardiola, last season was not easy for City: there was a downturn both in results and in the quality of play. But in moments like that, the board’s approach proved decisive — they chose moral support over criticism.
“When I look back at what happened last season, I’m proud of what we achieved as a club. At the same time, I’m happy with how we overcame the difficulties. The board was always there for us, constantly encouraging us: ‘Forward, forward, forward!’ That kind of atmosphere can only exist at such a great club,” Guardiola was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.
In short, Pep’s message is clear: a big team is strong not only through transfers or tactics, but through inner unity — not abandoning each other in tough times. This atmosphere at City, Guardiola believes, brings the team even closer together.
