The most populous cities and districts in Uzbekistan

The Statistics Agency has announced the top ten most populous districts and cities in Uzbekistan. The capital Tashkent is not included in the list.

The 10 most populous districts and cities are as follows:

1. Namangan city - 713.4 thousand people.
2. Samarkand city - 595.8 thousand people.
3. Urgut district - 572.6 thousand people.
4. Andijan city - 492.4 thousand people.
5. Denov district - 430.5 thousand people.
6. Almazar district - 412.0 thousand people.
7. Bas Dargom district - 392.1 thousand people.
8. Yunusabad district - 385.2 thousand people.
9. Sheykhontohur district - 369.9 thousand people.
10. Asaka district - 362.1 thousand people.
