The Uzbekistan Open Hockey Championship for the 2025–2026 season has started in the city of Bishkek. Five teams are participating in the tournament: three from Uzbekistan (Humo, Sherdor, and Binokor) and two from Kyrgyzstan (Alga and Uchur).
The first game was unsuccessful for Tashkent’s Humo team – losing with a score of 5:7. From the very first minutes, Humo had to chase the score.
The Uchur team started the game actively and scored twice in the opening minutes. The Uzbek hockey players tried to reduce the deficit and came close to equalizing the score several times.
However, in the decisive moments, they could not maintain their focus. The Kyrgyz team retained their advantage in the final minutes.
This is the first season held in an open championship format. Previously, the tournaments were only contested among Uzbek teams.
The addition of Kyrgyz teams is aimed at developing hockey in the region and improving players’ skills. In addition, the tournament is seen as a preparatory stage for the 2026 World Championship among juniors and adults.
Tomorrow, Humo will play against Uchur again. The match will begin at 19:30 Tashkent time.
The team hopes to claim its first win of the season and get revenge for the defeat. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
