Istanbul Bashakshehir head coach Nuri Shahin spoke in detail about the team's plans for the winter transfer window at a press conference following the game against Gaziantep. The specialist openly addressed the club's capabilities, priorities, and personnel policy.
Shahin emphasized that Bashakshehir is currently in a difficult financial situation. Therefore, every decision regarding transfers is carefully considered. "Frankly speaking, we are having some difficulties with strengthening the team. But our current squad is also very valuable. There are two ways to improve quality: either you get a ready and experienced player, or you invest in promising young players," he said.
The head coach reinforced these points with examples. He specifically mentioned Eldor Shomurodov as an experienced player and Abbosbek Fayzullayev as an example of investment for the future. According to Şahin, the club must always be open to these two directions - this is the main condition for sustainable development.
The specialist also added that the team knows exactly in which positions it is necessary to strengthen. Work is being carried out in close cooperation with the scouting team, the sports director, and the management, therefore, it is planned to carry out not many, but specific and logical transfers. "We either improve quality and achieve results, or invest in the future. There are no doubts about this," Shahin said confidently.
For information, Bashakshehir defeated Gaziantep 5:1 in the final round. In this match, Shomurodov scored a goal and provided an assist, while Fayzullayev also scored once. This result once again showed that the transfer policy described by Nuri Shahin is proving effective in practice.
