Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes sidelines due to injury. The Portuguese player sustained the injury during a Premier League match against Aston Villa and was substituted at halftime.
According to journalist Simon Stone, Manchester United expects the 31-year-old midfielder to recover in time for the match against Manchester City. The derby is scheduled to take place on January 17 at Old Trafford.
If everything goes according to plan, Fernandes will miss five matches for the Red Devils: against Newcastle United (December 26), Wolverhampton (December 30), Leeds United (January 4), Burnley (January 7), and Brighton (FA Cup, January 11). The midfielder has recorded five goals and seven assists in 18 matches this season for Ruben Amorim's side.
