Modric Wanted to End Career at Real Madrid, Club Refused

AC Milan midfielder Luka Modrić had hoped to stay at Real Madrid until the end of his career. The Croatian footballer played for the "Los Blancos" for 13 years.

The star midfielder did not want to leave anywhere, but the club decided to part ways with the experienced player last summer. According to *El Mundo*, Modrić had expressed his willingness to reduce his salary demands several times to continue his career in Madrid.

However, the club’s management stood firm on their decision and chose to rely on players such as Arda Güler, Aurélien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde. Head coach Xabi Alonso wanted to keep Luka Modrić in the team but understood that the decision was, to a large extent, out of his hands.

In September, AC Milan's current leader turned 40 years old.
