During January–September of the current year, birth rates in Uzbekistan remained at a high level. According to data from the National Statistics Committee, Samarkand region was identified as the leading area in this regard.
Based on the analysis, more than 80,000 babies were born in Samarkand region over nine months. This figure is the highest nationwide. Kashkadarya region ranked second, with over 75,000 births recorded. Fergana region took third place with more than 74,000 newborns.
In addition, Surkhandarya, Andijan, and Namangan regions continue to show relatively high birth rates. In Tashkent region and the capital city, the number of births approached 50,000.
Relatively lower birth figures were recorded in Navoi, Jizzakh, and Syrdarya regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
Overall, demographic growth continues actively, and Samarkand region remains one of the main drivers of this process.
