November 18, 2025. Uzbekistan's U-17 national team was defeated by Italy with a score of 3-2 in the Round of 16 at the U-17 World Cup.
In this match held in Doha, the team led by Islombek Ismoilov showcased a strong performance but concluded its participation in the tournament. In the 19th minute of the game, after Shokirov's clearance, Campaniello swiftly took possession of the ball and sent it into the net.
Later, during an offensive play, Sersenbayev bypassed the Italian defenders and attempted a shot on goal, but an Italian defender committed a foul. While the referee pointed to the penalty spot, unfortunately, the Uzbek player was in an offside position.
In the second half, the Uzbekistan youth team made every effort to equalize. In the 56th minute, Murodov leveled the score.
However, in the 68th minute, Campaniello scored his second goal by converting a corner kick. A few minutes later, Dauda Idris extended Italy's lead to 3-1.
Towards the end of the match, Erimbetov reduced the deficit, but it was not enough to secure victory for the team.
