In Kazakhstan, the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies in the religious and educational sphere is being planned. The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan reported that it is planning to develop the “Imam AI” mobile application based on artificial intelligence. Orda.kz reported this.
According to the words of the Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan, Nauryzbay haji Taganuly, the launch of this application is planned for 2026. It is expected that “Imam AI” will provide users with fast and accurate answers to their questions based on reliable religious sources.
The statement notes that, taking into account modern requirements, it is necessary to systematically introduce the capabilities of artificial intelligence in the religious sphere as well. The project is expected to serve so that citizens can receive easy and reliable answers to religious questions, and at the same time reduce the workload on imams and clergy.
In addition, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, declared 2026 the Year of Digitalization and the Development of Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure. As the President emphasized, the introduction of advanced technologies will serve to increase the country's potential in all areas.
Earlier, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan reported that it is not permissible to ask religious questions from artificial intelligence.
