
Former head coach of Uzbekistan’s national football team, Timur Kapadze, has been appointed as the head coach of Namangan's "Navbahor" club, according to the club's press service.
"Timur Kapadze is one of the most prominent figures in Uzbek football, with a track record of successfully managing teams ranging from youth squads to the national team. Under his guidance, teams have achieved significant results on the international stage," the club's statement reads.
The press service further noted that the new head coach will commence his duties along with his players starting December 1. The contract amount has not been disclosed.
The "Navbahor" club was founded in 1974. During the current season of the Uzbekistan Super League, "Navbahor" played 30 matches and finished in seventh place.
Before Kapadze, the team was managed by Uzbek specialist Sergey Lushchan from the summer of 2024 to the autumn of 2025. According to Transfermarkt, as of early December this year, the club's overall market value exceeds 5.9 million euros.
The team features players from Uzbekistan, Brazil, and Nigeria.
