Following the results of the fourth meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Ankara, on January 29, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan signed a number of resolutions and a package of bilateral documents. This package is aimed at further strengthening the multifaceted partnership and expanding practical cooperation between the countries.
The signed documents covered various areas. In particular, it was determined to deepen cooperation in the following areas:
- interaction in the areas of healthcare, education, and military medicine;
- strengthening economic and financial partnership;
- joint work and exchange of experience in the mining industry;
- cooperation in the development of international transport corridors;
- harmonization of experience and mechanisms in the direction of special economic zones;
- cooperation and exchange of information on nuclear safety, physical protection, guarantees and radiation protection;
- cooperation in matters of assistance in migration and the return of citizens to their country of origin;
- Intergovernmental cooperation agreements between the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Directorate for Religious Affairs of Turkey;
- Program of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs for 2026-2027;
- Protocol between the Uzbek Agency for the Development of Light Industry and the Council of Higher Education of Turkey;
- cooperation plan in the field of culture for 2026-2027.
In short, this package of agreements in Ankara has been supplemented with directions that translate relations from "word" to "action." Now the main intrigue lies in how quickly and effectively the plans contained in these documents will be implemented.
