In Uzbekistan, February may be warmer with more rain and snow

According to the forecast of the Hydrometeorological Service Agency, February is expected to be warmer by an average of 2-3 degrees, and in mountainous areas by 1-1.5 degrees compared to January. That is, winter might say "I'm leaving" and return to greet me once or twice.

The first five days of the month begin with humid weather. Precipitation, mainly in the form of rain, is expected throughout the republic. At this time, the temperature will gradually rise, reaching 5-10°C at night and 13-18°C during the day. In short, the weather will soften somewhat, but the rainy mood is in "mode."

In the coming weeks, the temperature will not remain stable until the end of the month:

at night from 2-7 degrees of heat to 0-5 degrees of cold, during the day from 5-10 degrees of heat to 13-18 degrees of heat. Therefore, one shouldn't leave lightly dressed just because "it's warm in the morning" - the evening weather quickly changes one's mind.

The forecast also indicates the probability of 2-3 days of precipitation every ten days: sometimes rain, sometimes snow. So, in February, the weather is a "mixed playlist" - dry one day, wet the next, and rain mixed with snow on another.

There are also interesting historical facts. During meteorological observations, the maximum temperature records for February reached 24-29 degrees, and in some places in the south up to 30-32 degrees. These records were recorded in most of the republic's territory in 2016 and 2021.

February is the wettest month of the year in most of Uzbekistan. But the month doesn't pass the same way every year:

February 2016 was one of the driest in this century, with rainfall less than 20% of the monthly norm. On the contrary, in February 2010, precipitation in some regions exceeded the norm by 200-300 percent.

In terms of snow cover, the longest period was observed in February 2008: in the central regions, snow days lasted up to 20-25 days, and in the southern regions - about 8-15 days.

The conclusion is simple: in February, the weather may be a little warmer, but there will also be more precipitation. Therefore, a "backup plan" is ready: an umbrella in hand, waterproof shoes, and for climbers, not yet turning off the winter mode.
