Ukrainian defender calls Khusanov a role model for the Premier League

Uzbekistan national team defender Abdukodir Khusanov has become the most talked about Uzbek footballer not only in Uzbekistan but also in European football. The biggest reason for this is clear: he moved from French club "Lans" to English "Manchester City" a year ago and hasn't lost himself on the big stage since then.
Khusanov has been in England for over a year. During this time, our 21-year-old defender has been living up to the expectations of the coaching staff, club management, and City fans from around the world, led by Josep Guardiola. The most pleasant thing is that he is not only "our child," but also a figure that is now closely observed in Europe.
Another proof of this attention came from Ukrainian football. The 20-year-old defender of one of Ukraine's most famous clubs - Dynamo Kyiv Taras Mikhavko, speaking about which players he watches in European clubs, also mentioned the name of Abdukodir Khusanov.
Mikhavko said he enjoys Niko Shlotterbeck's performance at Borussia Dortmund and regularly watches his style. Naturally, his compatriot Ilya Zabarny is also close to him. But the most interesting point is that he openly expressed his liking for Abdukodir Khusanov at "Manchester City": Husanov, despite his young age, emphasized that his performance is excellent, and he watches "City's" matches in the Premier League for the same reason.
Another aspect: Mikhavko also rated William Saliba and Gabriel, who are playing for Arsenal, as "completely different levels." This also shows how strong the list mentioned by Khusanov is. Because getting into such a company is not just praise, it's a signal that indicates a player's real rating.
Taras Mikhavko's career is also quite meaningful: this season, he has played in 26 matches for Dynamo Kyiv, scoring three goals alongside his defensive work. He also celebrated his debut for Ukraine in one of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against France.
Abdukodir Khusanov's path gradually led him to the "big league." He started his professional career at Belarusian "Energetik-BGU," and in the summer of 2023 went to the then French vice-champion "Lans." On January 20, 2025, Manchester City's management signed Khusanov, paying the Lancers €40 million.
Today, our compatriot has become one of the main defenders of "Manchester City." The most important plus is its versatility: he can confidently play both on the right wing and in the center of defense. Therefore, it is not without reason that Guardiola highly values Khusanov's future.
The conclusion is simple: rumors about Khusanov are circulating not only in Uzbekistan, but also in Kyiv and Europe. This is an opportunity that won't be left behind. Now the most important thing is to maintain this pace, strengthen in major matches, and turn each season into a new stage. The fans are waiting - and Khusanov seems like a player who can handle this pressure.
