The Tashkent Metro has announced its plans for the coming year. In 2024, an additional 56 new carriages are expected to be purchased.
Over the past three years, Uzbekistan has acquired 41 train sets. This renewal aims to reduce train intervals and improve operations.
As of mid-November, the capital’s metro system is serving close to 1 million passengers daily. In 2021, this figure stood at 300,000, and it is expected to reach 930,000 in 2024.
Additionally, residents of the capital have been urged to adhere to metro regulations. Tashkent residents have been asked not to gather near doors before passengers disembark, to quickly leave the carriages, and to avoid leaving personal belongings behind.
According to metro officials, such measures will help maintain the train schedules efficiently.
