Van de Ven bluntly names Tottenham’s main problem

Tottenham centre-back Micky van de Ven summed up the results of the outgoing year and spoke about the team’s tasks ahead of the upcoming season. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
2025 was eventful for the London club: Spurs finished last Premier League season in 17th place, but won the Europa League. During the break, head coach Ange Postecoglou was sacked, and stability has still not been found under Thomas Frank — after 18 rounds the team sit 11th in the Premier League.
In an interview with Sky Sports, van de Ven stressed that in 2026 Tottenham must first of all improve consistency in performances and results: the team experiences sharp ups and downs far too often. According to him, the main goal is to secure European qualification again, because Tottenham have to be playing there. The team will also fight for the FA Cup and continue their Champions League campaign.
On 1 January, Spurs will play away against Brentford.
