In Uzbekistan, a special fund will be established under the State Committee for Ecology to address environmental issues. This is stated in a decree by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
A total of 900 billion soums will be allocated from the state budget for the fund's financing this year. In 2026, an additional 548 billion soums will be directed towards it.
Starting next year, the fund's revenue will be supplemented by 20 percent of carbon unit trade, as well as fines and compensation payments. Among other financing sources, 10 percent of utilization fees in 2026 and 90 percent in 2027 will also be included.
Additionally, 100 percent of utilization fees for tires and wheels will be allocated to the fund. A special council will be established under the fund to manage the implementation of projects and allocation of funds based on transparency and accountability to the public.
