As of January 1, 2026, the number of operating enterprises in Uzbekistan totaled 474.9 thousand. This was reported in data from the National Statistics Committee. This is reported by kursiv.uz. reports .
The largest number of enterprises is in the trade sector — 153.2 thousand companies, or 32.3% of the total. Small businesses account for 85% of organizations in the country, totaling 403.8 thousand.
By region, the largest share is in Tashkent city: 108.7 thousand enterprises, or 22.9% of the market. Next are Tashkent region (46.5 thousand), Samarkand region (41.2 thousand) and Fergana region (38.2 thousand).
The most popular legal form of business remains the LLC — 170.4 thousand commercial entities operate in this format.
The number of enterprises with foreign capital participation increased by 22% over the year, reaching 18.1 thousand. China leads by investment with 5 thousand enterprises, followed by Russia with 3.2 thousand, and Turkey in third place with 2.1 thousand enterprises. Over the past five years, the number of foreign companies in the republic has nearly doubled.
