How many liters of alcohol does a person drink in Uzbekistan?

In Uzbekistan, an average person consumes 2.1 liters of pure alcohol per year. This figure is presented in the World Population Review 2026 Alcohol Consumption by Country ranking and placed our country 7th among CIS countries.

In the ranking, Russia and Belarus stand out with the highest consumption rates. By CIS countries, annual alcohol consumption per person is as follows:

• Russia — 16.8 liters

• Belarus — 11.6 liters

• Kazakhstan — 6.38 liters

• Moldova — 4.79 liters

• Armenia — 4.28 liters

• Azerbaijan — 2.49 liters

• Uzbekistan — 2.1 liters

• Turkmenistan — 1.26 liters

• Kyrgyzstan — 0.72 liters

Central Asian countries show relatively low figures compared to European countries.

Globally, the countries with the highest alcohol consumption are:

• Romania — 17.1 liters

• Georgia — 15.5 liters

• Latvia — 14.7 liters

• Moldova — 14.1 liters

• Czechia — 13.7 liters

Thus, alcohol consumption in Uzbekistan is considerably lower than the average levels of CIS and European countries — this may indicate the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle in our country.
