Sunny and quite hot days await Uzbekistan. According to forecasters, the weather across the republic will be mostly dry and clear. However, short-term rain and stronger winds are possible in some regions.
Temperatures will continue to rise
Today, the daytime temperature in most parts of the country will be around 30-35 degrees , while in desert zones and southern regions, the heat will be significantly higher — reaching up to 37-39 degrees.
The hot air flow will persist through Saturday and Sunday:
Night: +17...+22 degrees;
Daytime: +32...+37 degrees;
South and deserts: up to +39...+41 degrees.
Where might it rain?
Although dry weather will prevail over the weekend, local rain is possible in some areas:
Saturday: Short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible in some parts of Tashkent, Jizzakh, and Sirdaryo regions in the second half of the day.
Sunday: Rain with thunderstorms is expected in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region.
Mountainous areas: Precipitation is expected in foothills and mountainous areas on May 15-17. Be careful: there is a risk of flash floods and mudslides!
Warning about dust storms and strong winds
Wind speeds are expected to increase across the republic over the next three days. In particular, on May 17, wind speeds may reach 13-18 m/s , and in some places up to 20-22 m/s . This will cause dust storms in some regions.
What will the weather be like in the capital?
Mostly clear weather is expected in Tashkent over the weekend.
May 16 (Saturday): Daytime +32...+34 degrees. Light rain and thunderstorms are possible towards the evening. Wind speeds may increase to 10-12 m/s, with a chance of dust.
May 17 (Sunday): No precipitation is expected; the air temperature will rise further to +34...+36 degrees .
