Science News: Doctoral scholarships to increase, bureaucracy to be reduced

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed proposals for improving the scientific personnel training system.

Key changes and updates:

- Scholarships increased: Doctoral scholarships in priority areas such as artificial intelligence, green energy, medicine, and food security will be increased by 1.7 times.
- Bureaucracy reduced by 50%: Dissertation defense processes will be fully digitized. Excessive requirements, such as printing numerous documents and preparing large quantities of abstracts, will be abolished.
- SAC system reform: The Higher Attestation Commission (SAC) will be integrated into the Academy of Sciences, and a rating system for scientific councils will be implemented.
- Applied Doctorate: New programs, "Scientific Degree within a Project" and "Applied Doctorate," will be launched in cooperation with real-sector enterprises.
- International Council: A Scientific Advisory Council will be established, involving compatriot scientists from abroad.

The President gave relevant instructions to officials to refine these proposals and improve the quality of scientific research.
