According to the "Avtostat" agency, citing GlobalData data, by the end of 2025, China ranked first in the world in the sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. It is noted that China surpassed the US in this indicator with a significant difference.
According to GlobalData, a total of 91.9 million passenger and light commercial vehicles were sold worldwide in 2025. This is 3.6% more than in 2024, which is explained by the recovery of the market and the stabilization of demand.
In terms of regions, the highest result was recorded in China - 26.8 million cars were sold, which is 10.5 million more than in the USA. In the USA, 16.3 million cars were sold, in Western Europe - 13.4 million, and in Eastern Europe - 4.6 million. Analysts highlight the growth in South America, noting that more than 3 million cars were sold in the region, which is the highest growth rate of 8.8% compared to 2024; positive dynamics are also observed in developed markets, with growth of 3.5% in South Korea, 3.3% in Japan, and 3.2% in Canada.
