
Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the Pushkin Medal to Elmira Akhmedova, a member of the Uzbekistan Academy of Arts. This was reported by the TASS news agency.
The award ceremony took place on November 4 at the Kremlin Palace. Among the recipients were also representatives from Italy, Vietnam, Germany, Japan, the UAE, and CIS countries.
The Pushkin Medal was established in Russia on May 9, 1999. This award is given for services in the fields of culture and art, as well as for contributions by foreign citizens to the development of relations with Russia and support for Russian culture.
