Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has been awarded an honorary Oscar for his contributions to the film industry, reports *Variety*. The award ceremony took place during the Governors Awards on November 16, 2025.
Upon receiving the award, Cruise delivered an emotional speech, stating, "Making films isn’t my job, it is who I am." According to him, cinema unites people, helps appreciate differences, and fosters an understanding of our shared humanity.
"No matter where we are from, we laugh together, we feel together, we hope together in a movie theater – that is the power of this art form. That is why this means so much to me.
Making films isn’t my job; it is who I am," Cruise said. The actor reminisced about his childhood, recalling the first time he saw a ray of light in a dark hall, which opened up a world far greater than he had known.
On the same evening, honorary Oscars were also presented to choreographer Debbie Allen and production designer Wynn Thomas. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
