Freight Volume Between Uzbekistan and Russia Increases

It has been reported that demand for freight transportation between Uzbekistan and Russia increased by nearly one-third in September and October of this year compared to the same period last year. This information was shared by the PEC company.

According to the company, the number of freight transportation orders between the two countries during this period increased by 31.5% year-on-year. PEC: Silk Way highlighted that during the autumn, food products, particularly fruits and vegetables, have seen higher export volumes.

Suppliers are rushing to deliver their goods before the discount season, which starts in mid-November. Demand for small shipments, such as electronics, fabric samples, spare parts, and technical components, has also grown significantly.

This rise is attributed to the active development of online commerce. According to PEC, due to the increase in demand, freight transportation costs between Russia and Uzbekistan have risen by 16% compared to last year.

In early November, the cost of transporting goods via truck from Moscow to Tashkent was approximately 252,000 rubles. The rise in prices is explained by changes in exchange rates and higher inflation in Uzbekistan.
