Uzbekistan boosts jida exports by nearly 69% in a year

In the first 11 months of 2025, Uzbekistan exported 5.4 thousand tons of jida. According to the National Statistics Committee, this figure is 68.8% higher than in the same period last year. This was reported by Kursiv.uz.reports.

Export revenue totaled $9.1 million. Turkey was the largest buyer of jida, receiving 2.1 thousand tons of the product. China imported 957 tons, while Kazakhstan imported 852 tons of jida.

Russia (508 tons) and Azerbaijan (396 tons) also made it into the top five countries buying Uzbek jida most actively.

Jida is a fruit that grows on the oleaster tree (most commonly the silver or oriental oleaster) and has a mildly sweet, slightly astringent taste. It is widespread in Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, and is often eaten dried, added to sweets, and used in traditional medicine.
